At present is the top point in history to be a movie enthusiast. It used to be that the single way you could see a fantastic film was to visit the movie theater. Soon after video stores came on the scene but you had to go over there and many times the movies were out of stock. You also needed to be concerned about getting the show back to the store in a timely manner or you had to pay a late fee. Even now when you can get movies in the mail, you still have to wait.

The Prince and the Showgirl - Reasonably decent but slow moving comedy of saucy American show gal Monroe being courted by Prince Regent of Carpathia (Olivier) throughout the'11 coronation of George V. Filmed in England, with marvelous performances by Monroe and Olivier. Cast includes Marilyn Monroe, Laurence Olivier, Sybil Thorndike, Jeremy Spencer, and Richard Wattis. (117 minutes,'57)

Say It Isn't So - Amiably un-ambitious Klein falls for the new hairdresser in town Graham. They have consensual sex and then Klein discovers that Graham is his sister. It is a unreserved flop. This is compounded more when his wife decides to leave him because he won't snap out of it. Like Water for Chocolate - Striking and sensuous film from a book by Laura Esquivel set in the early part of the 20th century - a young girl's life is conditioned by her somber and unbending mother, who treats her terribly. Sumptuous tale, not without humor, with an excellent cast and a top of the line performance from lead actress Cavazos. Cast includes Lumi Cavazos, Marco Leonardi, Regina Tome, Mario Ivan Martinez, and Ada Carrasco. (113 minutes,'92)

Far and Away - A scrappy Irish tenant farmer hooks up, in uncertain style, with the comparably energetic daughter of a affluent landowner, and together they travel to America to look for their final destiny in the'93 Oklahoma land rush. Exceptional platform for Tom and Nicole, who are both beautiful and involving; the dilemma is a severe deficiency of good dialogue to fill the gaps between fight scenes. Cast includes Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Thomas Gibson, Robert Prosky, Barbara Babcock, Cohn Meaney, and Rance Howard. (140 minutes,'92)

Rampage - Expectant Long Island housewife, not able to contend with married life escapes her spouse and picks up a simple minded football player on the street. Cast includes Michael Biehn, AIex McArthur, Robert Duvall, Marya Zimmet, Tom Aldredge, and Laurie Crewes. (97 minutes,'92)
