Finding Perfect Hotels In Dublin

By Tris Jackson

When you're looking around for a hotel in Dublin, you should start by asking yourself what it is that you actually want from the place you'll be choosing. Although you might think this is obvious, in my experience it's easy to forget this simple rule to keep in your mind.

To get to the bottom of this, you need to go into the question at a basic level. So when you're looking through the list of hotels in Dublin that are available to you, you are in the best possible position to make an informed decision about the hotel that most matches what you're looking for.

The first thing to look at, of course, is why it is you want to stay in a hotel at all. Generally, this will be because you're going on holiday or for work purposes. There are other reasons, such as perhaps visiting people or attending a function, but the most likely scenario is you'll be there for a break or to work.

Once we have in mind why it is we're going, we then need to determine where in Dublin will be the best place for us to be based. This will take into account factors such as whether you want to be near the town centre, near to any sightseeing opportunities, or near to where you'll be working.

Now you know this, you'll want to decide on the kind of facilities that the hotel should have. It's pretty certain that every modern hotel will come with an en suite bathroom, though you can potentially save some cash if this isn't necessary for you. And you should think whether you want the place to have a bar or somewhere you can get dinner.

Many hotels also now come with facilities that would have been unheard of a few years ago, including some with their own gym and swimming pool. If you want to keep on top of your emails or just chat with friends on Facebook, a wifi internet connection might also be important to you.

We said you could potentially save money with a hotel with fewer facilities, and obviously this will be a big factor in your choice. There's no point going after a luxurious hotel if you can't afford to pay the necessary amount of cash to stay there. In Dublin, there are many hotels that are available that will suit any pocket, so you should definitely find what you're after.

So now you know roughly the area you want to be in, and the facilities you'll want from your hotel and the surrounding area, it's time to look at all the hotels that Dublin has to offer you, and make your choice according to the criteria you've just established for the ideal place.

One final factor, of course, is the dates you'll want to stay there. It's not always the case that each hotel is available for your chosen time frame - or perhaps not for all the time you want to be there - so it's essential you check based on the actual dates of your stay so you're not disappointed when you come to book.
