Did You Know That You Can Learn While You Sleep?

By Trevor Johnson

Not many people know that they aren't limited to learning while they're awake. It's a much speculated on but not very common known fact that you can learn while you sleep. There are lots of ways in which you can get this done, but the easiest is to listen to audio recordings while your subconscious mind is completely aware of what's going on.

Many times, our conscious mind tends to block things out. It may sound strange, but you may hear your friends make comments along the lines of "my brain is full." They aren't kidding. When your conscious mind is involved, the learning process ends at some point.

You can learn just about anything while you're asleep with the use of audio stimulation and repetition, simply by playing a CD or MP3 file. You can learn new languages; self help techniques, relaxation, wellness and much more while your subconscious mind is open to information as you sleep. The list is only limited by your conscious mind. Anything and everything is perfectly possible. So don't hold yourself back from any idea that crosses your mind.

Once a man was trying to help his son prepare for class and decided to read a poem out loud to the child as he slept. The boy had been having a very difficult time learning the poem but when he woke in the morning, he was able to quickly and easily recite the poem. This gave his father an idea for a contraption that he named the cerebograph. This item was shared with a group of 40 UNC students and they all benefited from using it.

He then created a machine that was part record player, part microphone and part clock. He found a psychologist at UNC that committed to using the device for a study and after two years and forty students, the device proved successful. Nowadays, it's been copied by a number of sleep learning companies who've transformed it into easy to use CD programs.

It's true, you can learn while you sleep. Benefit from opening your subconscious mind up to all sorts of information and become a more well rounded individual.
